Vladimir Fedorovich ANANYEV

He lived in the Traktorozavodsky District (Stalingrad), where he was drafted into the Red Army in May 1942. Vladimir Fedorovich Ananyev served in the rank of sergeant in the engineer/miner battalion of the artillery brigade on the North Caucasus Front, then as a platoon sergeant on the Stalingrad Front, he fought for his native city. Subsequently, he held the position of commander of the 275th Engineer Sapper Sevastopol battalion, 13th Guards Rifle Corps.

Vladimir Fedorovich took part in the liberation of Rostov and Bataysk, Donbas, Melitopol, Crimea (including the assault on Perekop, the assault crossing of Sivash, the assault on Mount Sapun, and the liberation of Sevastopol), Belarus, Lithuania, Prussia.


After the end of the war, he served in Germany with the Group of Soviet Forces until 1949.
