Evgeny Vasilyevich GMYZIN

Yevgeny Vasilyevich Gmyzin was a 14-year-old teenager when the war reached Sevastopol. He was enlisted as a signalman prentice in the 79th Marine Brigade, which was commanded by the legendary brigade commander A. S. Potapov.

On one of the last ships, he was contused and moved from Sevastopol to Novorossiysk.
He continued his service in the Baltic Fleet.
After the war, he studied, taught English.
