Pavel Zakharovich SOROKIN

He was drafted into the Red Army on September 22, 1941, took part in fierce battles for Sevastopol, was wounded and captured. The belief in a quick victory and the desire to return to the homeland helped him to survive.

After the end of the war, he continued his service, became a commander of a machine-gun platoon, served in Tuapse.

He was discharged on November 11, 1946, in the rank of junior sergeant. For more than 70 years, Pavel Zakharovich was considered KIA in the defense of Sevastopol. His name is included in the list of those who fell during the Great Patriotic War war, defenders of the hero city in Museum Historical and Memorial Complex "35 Coastal Battery"
